Patio Turned Into 3 Season Room With Glass

Our customer had a covered patio that they loved to use, but were limited in its use because of the Colorado weather.  Working together, we designed a way to enclose the patio with glass, turning it into a full-use 3 season room.  The custom design involves multiple sliding glass doors to give the homeowner entrances on each of the three sides of glass.

We created a three season room using glass walls and doors around an existing patio,

Cathedral 1 - Here you can see two sides of the glass enclosed patio. 

The glass doors in this three season room are sliding doors.

Cathedral 2 - The smaller glass panes were designed to fit between the beam and the cover over the patio. 

We designed a sliding glass door and glass panel to accommodate an existing stucco half-wall.

Cathedral 3 - The homeowner wanted to keep the stucco half-wall at one end of the patio so we designed a pane to fit on top of it and a sliding door that would work around it. 

The owners have a built-in grill right outside the side door of the new sun room.

Cathedral 4 - Here you can see the built-in grill located just outside sliding doors leading to the 3 season room. 

The owners have turned this sunroom into a great area to relax, adding couches, chairs, and a tv.

Cathedral 5 - This view shows the sliding door open . They allow fresh air in to the room, but because they are glass do not hinder the view.

Cathedral 6 - The beams along the upper portion of the glass walls were added by DBS. The height of the cover was too high for the glass so we added that and put in smaller panes of glass along it.

Cathedral 7 - The added beams were matched to the existing support beams so they appear to have been part of the original structure. 

Sitting inside the 3 season room, the homeowners have a beautiful, unobstructed view thanks to the glass walls.

Cathedral 8 - Here is the sliding glass door that was installed on the front of the 3 season room we built.
