Lighting for Custom Decks

Adding lighting to your steps or deck posts not only adds an element of safety, but can provide a full moon mood during the evening.  As you can see in the pictures below, there are numerous styles of light.  You can choose styles to be installed on the stair riser, post cap, or on the sides of the posts.  Add to your deck customization by choosing a unique style of light cover.

The Pikes Peak deck stair lights are rectangular with a design that resembles the mountains and a sliver moon.

1 - The Pikes Peak step light adds a sense of the mountains to this small deck 

The Moab deck stair light is a square divided in half top to bottom, then the top portion is halved right to left.

2 - The Moab step light was installed on every other step. 

These post lights have small panels on all four sides that resemble windows and flat pyramid cover.

3 - The customer added post lights on every post for night lighting. 

This customer installed unique, half-round post lights all around their deck.

4 - This customer installed uniquely designed rail lights on their deck 

The Mt Evans lighted post cap is broken up into 3 sections on each side, with a wide cap that has a hammered appearance.

The Golden Gate step light is a square design divided into three parts.

6 - On this Redwood deck, the homeowner installed Golden Gate step lights on the stairs. 

Our customer installed a railing light on the stucco columns used for their railing.

7 - On their stucco columns, this customer installed the Moab rail light. 

We installed Yellow Stone step lights on this deck. They are rectangular with 4 slits for the light, it resembles a vent.

8 - This custom composite deck is enhanced by the Yellow Stone step lights added to the staircase. 

This deck has a railing with wood components and metal balusters. They installed copper colored post lights on all the posts.

9 - This customer chose copper colored post cap lights to be installed on all the posts. 

We built two wrap-around steps for a hot tub and installed Pikes Peak step lights. The lights are rectangular with a design that resembles the mountains and a sliver moon.

10 - Pikes Peak step lights were installed around the hot tub platform to improve safety at night.

11 - These lights were installed underneath the drink cap along the posts. 

This customer had us install step lights on stairs that wrap around a hot tub.

12 - This customer installed the Estes step light around their hot tub platform. 

Here we installed bell shaped rail lights on the stucco columns that connect the metal railing.

13 - This customer installed bell shaped post lights on their custom designed stucco posts. 

To help improve safety at night we installed step lights on every other step of this staircase.

14 - To help improve night time lighting on their stairs, this customer installed Lake Powell step lights. 

This cylindrical rail light, the Berkley, is installed at the corner of a wood deck, under the drink cap.

15 - This Berkley rail light was installed in a color that is very close to the colors of the metal balusters in the railing. 

This homeowner had us install stair lights on 2 stair risers and matching post lights on the two posts at the top of the stairs.

16 - The Mt. Evans style lights were used for both the stair riser lights and the post cap lights on this deck. 

We installed flat pyramid shaped post caps that have LED lights installed under the lip.

17 - The flat pyramid post caps have LED installed underneath so they look like regular post caps. 

This customer chose a matte black, hour glass shaped rail light to match the custom wrought iron railing.

18 - In order to keep the look of this custom designed wrought iron rail, this customer installed the Endurance Hourglass rail light for their deck lighting. 

On each railing post we installed pyramid post caps that are also lighted caps.

19 - These pyramid post caps are actually lighted caps, they just blend in perfectly. 

We installed large, rectangular shaped stair lights on every other riser of this staircase.

20 - Yellow Stone brick lights were installed on this entry way from the deck.

21 - Our customer wanted to keep the sleek lines of their metal railing, so we installed LED flat pyramid lighted post caps. 

This railing system uses stucco columns instead of posts. On each side of the columns, we installed bell shaped railing lights.

22 - DBS found these half-globe post lights that were in the same finish as the customer's custom designed railing.

23 - Here you can see how adding lighting to a deck and stairs not only increases safety, but enhances the beauty of a custom deck. 

This homeowner decided to use LED strip lights installed under alternating stairs instead of using the traditional step lights.

24 - These stairs feature LED strip lights under alternating stairs and railing post lights.
