Build a Pergola for Your Custom Deck
If you are looking for some shade on your deck but don’t really want a full cover, a pergola would be a good option for you to consider. Pergolas will add some shade to your deck and provide an attractive design element.
Below are some pictures of pergolas that we have built for customers. There are quite a few different design styles that show how the addition can enhance a deck. There are countless possibilities to choose from depending on the type of wood, composite, vinyl, aluminum, shape, design of support posts, etc.

1 – A gorgeous Cedar pergola with two custom-built privacy screens, allows the owners to have an outdoor living area away from prying eyes.
2 – This gorgeous Cedar pergola was built over a concrete patio to provide the homeowners with some shade. It is stained in PPG Buckskin solid-body stain.
3 – The homeowners called us because they wanted to add a pergola that would cover the patio in their backyard. Working together, we designed this pergola using rough-sawn Douglas Fir. We then stained it with a solid-body stain that was a custom match to the existing house siding.
4 – Our customers wanted to add this arbor to their patio. It not only provides some shade, but adds a unique design element to their outdoor living space.
5 – When we built this pergola and deck, the owners requested a drop-down shade at the end to provide privacy and as a sunblock.
6 – For these homeowners we built a Cedar pergola and gabled deck cover over the stamped concrete patio. The pergola is stained in Sherwin Williams Diving White solid-body stain.
7 – This Cedar pergola was built to take advantage of the stone columns used to support the deck. We put the posts inside the columns.
8 – We built this redwood deck and rough-sawn Cedar pergola for the homeowners. The pergola is stained with two applications of a solid-body stain.
9 – We built this custom composite deck with a Douglas Fir pergola. The pergola provides shade for the cozy seating area that features a fantastic view!
10 – This Cedar pergola was built using posts that have a partial spiral design. We also installed multiple pull-down shades to protect from the sun and provide privacy.
11 – The homeowners had a Redwood deck that they loved, but wanted to add a pergola to provide some shade. Working together, we designed and built this unique Cedar pergola.

15 – DBS built this B-grade Redwood deck with a tri-corner pergola. It creates an intimate seating area to enjoy the quiet of the forest.
16 – These homeowners added stucco half-walls to their deck and a pergola stained to match the walls. The posts feature a spiral design.
17 – This composite deck was built with a pergola and animal control boards below the deck. Both have been stained to match the house.
18 – This is the same deck as shown in #17. You can see that the seating area on the deck is well shaded from the Colorado sun.
19 – This pergola features a grid design stained white with a red lattice laid over the top for a beautiful contrast that matches the house.
