Covered Redwood Deck with Custom Wood and Cable Railing

When the homeowners purchased their home, it had a small, outdated deck attached.  They wanted to be able to have a true outdoor living area, so they called us.  We discussed the many different options available for building their new deck and cover.  The owners decided to use B-Grade Redwood because it has fewer knots than Common Redwood and is a lighter color.  The design included double divider boards to avoid butt seams.  We also designed a gabled deck cover with a vaulted tongue and groove ceiling that had recessed lighting.  The railing system consists of Redwood posts and drink cap with horizontal stainless-steel cables for a sleek, modern look.  We also built two six-foot-wide closed-step staircases, one at each end of the deck, for easy access to the backyard.  The homeowners thoroughly enjoy their new outdoor living space all summer long!
