Brazilian Redwood Deck with Gabled Cover

Our customers had a fantastic view from the back of their house and wanted to build a deck to match it.  They knew they wanted to build with hardwood but needed to decide which one to use.  After doing some research, the owners decided to use Brazilian Redwood or Massaranduba.  Not only does it have beautiful variations in its coloring, but it is also a very heavy wood that is resistant to decay and termites.  The railing system consists of wood posts with matte black panels in between the posts.  We also added a gabled deck cover built to match the house, using the same roofing tiles.  It has a vaulted ceiling in tongue and groove knotty pine with recessed lighting.
